Church Administrator Job Description

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Fulltime, salaried position.
  • Strategic Support: To assist with the prioritization and evaluation of key objectives in collaboration with RAC leadership boards and staff.
  • To be a key member of the team, supporting and enabling the ministries of RAC.

 

POSITION ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Leadership and Accountability
    • Lead, manage, and hold accountable (LMA) the Administrative, Communications, Finance, Facilities, and Administrative leads at RAC.
  2. Policy Development & Management
    • Oversee the development, implementation, and follow-up of RAC church policies and procedures in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Church Elders, as needed.
  3. Human Resources
    • Provide day-to-day HR services under the direction of the Board of Directors' Human Resources Committee.
    • Coordinate staff benefits, including the pension plan, vacation, and sick leave.
    • Manage the hiring of Administrative Staff and assist with other church hiring processes as needed.
  4. External Relations
    • Serve as the liaison between Eston College and RAC.
  5. Meetings and Collaboration
    • Attend all Staff, Board, and Church Elder meetings to provide resources and foster collaboration.
    • Participate in all Joint Staff, Board, and Elder Leadership retreats.
  6. Financial Oversight
    • Collaborate with the Financial Administrator on the annual budgeting process.
  7. Planning and Support
    • Work with the Pastoral Staff in annual and monthly planning sessions, serving as a resource for project and ministry planning.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience & Skills
    • Previous management experience, including team leadership and all aspects of team management.
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Spiritual & Personal Commitment
    • Strong personal commitment to Christ and a desire to minister to people.
    • A biblical lifestyle that aligns with the expectations of this role.
    • Regular attendance and membership at RAC with a consistent record of financial giving.
    • A high level of Godly administrative gifting.
  • Interpersonal Skills
    • Ability to interact with the public in a Christ-like manner.
    • Commitment to maintaining excellent relationships with staff and church members.
  • Professional & Practical Requirements
    • Involvement in volunteer work beyond regular church membership.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Access to and use of a personal vehicle for role-related tasks.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and study.
  • Work Environment
    • Maintenance of a clean, organized, and inviting office space.
