The Finance Administrator is crucial in managing the church’s financial records with accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.

Core Competencies:

  • Proficiency in database navigation and QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills to handle tasks like bank reconciliations, tax receipts, audits and year-end preparations.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively work with staff, coordinate with auditors, and ensure compliance with CRA and Hope City Brampton guidelines, supporting the church's financial transparency and accountability.

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee the receiving and recording of all donations and accounts receivables
  • Prepare all required financial reports for Senior Leadership and Board of Directors
  • Complete government filings and reports
  • Process all accounts payable items following the necessary approval process
  • Complete all account reconciliations
  • Assist the Business Pastor with fiscal year-end audit requirements

 

General Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (minimum five years) as a financial administrator or in a similar role is preferred
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Office 365 with an aptitude to learn and integrate new software and applications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, customer service orientation, problem-solving ability and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
