Role Summary
The Associate Pastor of Operations and Care at Granville Chapel serves a key role in the church by providing organizational leadership and pastoral care support. This position serves as a complement to the Lead Pastor position in his pastor-scholar role by overseeing the organizational health and spiritual nurture of the congregation. While the Lead Pastor, along with the Board, are responsible for establishing the strategic direction and theological focus, this role focuses on implementing vision and strategic direction through the development, support, and evaluation of effective means to those goals, as well as ensuring effective pastoral care for the church as a whole. The role will also include sharing in occasional preaching, depending on interest and gifting.

Working Relationships: Reports to the Lead Pastor
Responsibilities:
Operations Leadership (65%)
- Work with the LP to implement strategic initiatives, including the development, monitoring, and evaluation of ministries and programs.
- Work with the LP to develop and monitor budgeting and financial processes.
- Oversee staff and key volunteers with the LP, ensuring that all ministry areas have adequate pastoral support.
- Coordinate and communicate with ministry leaders to ensure operational alignment with strategic goals.
- Lead or coordinate project management for key initiatives (e.g. Alpha, Church-wide events, etc).
- Serve as an integral point of communication between LP and staff / volunteers.
- Share in occasional preaching responsibilities (6 to 8 times a year).
Pastoral Care Ministry (35%)
- Implement and support an effective pastoral care system for the church.
- Serve as an integral point of communication between the volunteer pastoral care team and other staff.
- Help support, equip, and mobilize the pastoral care volunteer team.
- Provide direct pastoral care in critical situations.
- Support in pastoral acts (baptisms, weddings, funerals).
- Ensure that follow-up systems are established for ongoing care situations.

- Demonstrated abilities in program development, volunteer support, and pastoral care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience in leadership development.
- Gift for balancing administrative excellence with pastoral sensitivity.
Requirements:
- Theological training (M.Div. or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years ministry experience with operational, supervisory and pastoral responsibilities.
- Commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, with an authentic and growing faith in him, and passionate about leading others to Him.
- Aligned with Granville Chapel’s Vision and Values.
- Ability to teach and preach is an asset.
- Musical ability and experience in leading worship is an asset.
