Position Summary
The Finance and HR Assistant will work directly with the Senior Accounting Manager and CEO to increase their effectiveness to fulfill the Mission and values of the organization. The Finance and HR Assistant will ensure smooth functioning of the Ministry by providing relevant and timely administrative support.
Responsibilities
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
• Accurately preparing and entering daily donations and deposits in donor management software and accounting software
• Ensuring financial integrity within donor management software
• Receiving, recording and processing airfare invoices and related expenses
• Assisting in generation of financial reports as required
• Preparing deposits and facilitating bank transactions when necessary
• Assist with Year End preparations and support with the annual audit
• Help prepare and send out annual tax receipts to donors in both Canada and the United States
• Maintaining human resources records in accordance with the directives of the Senior Accounting Manager
• Assist with the preparation and disbursement of statement of earnings
• Managing incoming mail and maintaining an organized filing system for financial documentation
• Provide additional management and administrative support as required
The Role
Education & Experience
• Related post-secondary diploma in Accounting/Business or related to Medical Ministry International
• Minimum 2 years’ work experience, preferably with a non-profit organization
Skills & Abilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
• Excellent organizational skills and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Attention to detail
• Expert in using Word, Excel, Outlook, and database applications
• Knowledge in QuickBooks considered an asset
