Title:  Charitable Organization Director (Internal Designation: Director of Mobilization)

Location: 84 West St. Port Colborne, ON, L3K 4C8

Operation Mobilization Canada operating as OM Canada (registered charity no. 10780 1755 RR 0001. We want to see vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached. We are currently looking for a Charitable Organization Director (Internal Designation: Director of Mobilization) to join our team.  This is a full-time permanent position.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

  • Permanent, Full-time
  • 35 hours a week
  • $48.13/hour
  • Hybrid: must attend main office in Port Colborne, Ontario on request
  • 4 weeks vacation

Job Duties:

  1. Establish objectives and formulate or approve policies and programs.
  • Attend Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meetings to assist in the development and implementation of team-wide policies and programs.
  • Plan and implement innovative initiatives on behalf of the Mobilization team.
  • Actively participate in OM Canada team meetings, promoting and encouraging all team members to align with mission objectives.
  1. Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions.
  • Develop a nationwide team of Mission Mobilizers and volunteers who will actively engage in recruitment for OM’s international vision and objectives
  • Meet regularly with the Mobilization team to ensure team member’s activities and initiatives align with organizational vision and direction through coaching and mentoring.
  • Conduct annual appraisals with the Mobilization team to assess and develop individuals’ performance and goals.
  1. Allocate material, human and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs; establish financial and administrative controls; formulate and approve promotional campaigns; and approve overall personnel planning.
  • Identify strategic priorities for Mobilization team involvement and allocate staff and finances accordingly.
  • Ensure that database records are kept up-to-date.
  • Be available for strategic meetings to give adequate context for further financial opportunities.
  • Make proper introductions of Financial Development (FD) team to local churches when needed.
  • Develop annual budget to reflect defined ministry objectives for the Mobilization department.
  • Report regularly on meetings and events attended, identifying trends and alignment with annual goals.
  • Maintain regular contact with prayer partners, financial supporters and sending churches, developing relationships and furthering partnerships.
  • Develop prayer and financial support base on a continual basis by regularly engaging with individuals, groups and churches.
  1. Select middle managers, directors or other executive staff.
  • Recruit new members for the Mobilization department by actively engaging in OM networks around the world and identifying suitable candidates from staff returning to Canada from service overseas.
  • Interview and select successful candidates for middle management roles within OM.
  1. Coordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments.
  • Meet regularly with provincial Mobilizers to coordinate efforts and maximize potential.
  • Attend ministerial gatherings for building rapport and strengthening relationships, coming alongside local initiatives as appropriate as they align with OM’s mission.
  • Provide teaching and religious education to different congregations through speaking and presentations.
  • Promote the ministry and work of Operation Mobilization within the religious community.
  • Introduce OM field guests to networks of churches and collaborate in planning the itineraries for visiting OM speakers.
  • Help resource prayer networks with the needs of OM.
  • Attend local prayer initiatives and public worship services to help as available.
  1. Represent OM Canada, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of OM Canada, in negotiations or other official functions.
  • Actively identify churches that have similar shared vision and facilitate a relationship between OM fields and appropriate Canadian Church contacts.
  • Identify resources OM Canada can provide the local church to support their worship services and strengthen our partnership.
  • Facilitate the planning of logistics, itineraries, and presence of OM activity around representation, as appropriate.
  • Actively support the organization of meetings in churches and mission conferences to promote the work of OM.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of mission experience in different countries
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in team leadership or mobilization role
  • Experience in working with a broad range of church denominations preferred
  • High level of cultural intelligence and experience in multiple national ministry settings
  • Familiarity and alignment with OM’s core values and ethos

  • Is able to work well with others, internally and externally.
