YFC Canada Mission Statement
To participate in the body of Christ in responsible evangelism of youth, presenting them with the person, work and teachings of Christ and discipling them into the Church.
YFC International Mission Statement
As part of the Body of Christ, to see that every young person in every people group in every nation has the opportunity to make an informed decision to be a follower of Jesus Christ and become part of a local church.
Our History
Youth for Christ has a history of youth evangelism. In the early 1940s, many young ministers and evangelists, held large rallies in Canada, England and the United States.
As the hunger for God’s Word grew, someone needed to coordinate this movement. YFC quickly organized into a national movement. Billy Graham became YFC’s first full-time staff member.
Between the mid 40s and 50s, YFC grew rapidly and spun off several other well known organizations. It was the time of the famous YFC rallies, where thousands of youth, young adults, and middle-aged people turned out on Saturday nights to hear famous preachers, movie stars, musicians, and others.
From the mid 1950s on, YFC turned its focus to teenagers. The late 70’s saw the high-energy leadership of Brian Stiller as President.
YFC imparts God’s love, truth and hope to young people from all walks of life regardless of race, faith, economic level, or cultural background
YFC is a Registered Charity with the Government of Canada / Canada Revenue Agency
